Leading Research and Advisory Firm Identifies ALTR’s Data-Security Platform As a Catalyst for the Largest Adoption of Blockchain Yet

SAN FRANCISCO—August 21, 2018—ALTR, the first software company to unleash the cybersecurity benefits of blockchain for the enterprise, has been named to the list of “50 Companies to Watch” by Outsell, a research and advisory firm focused on the media, information, data, and technology sectors. As part of Outsell’s annual survey of young emerging companies, the list recognizes the organizations, products and leaders that are at a tipping point in the business of information. The list highlights the top disruptive companies to watch across the industry segments that Outsell forecasts will experience the strongest growth in the year ahead.

Research analysts from Outsell identified ALTR’s data security platform, the industry’s first software solution designed to harness blockchain’s virtually inviolable structure and apply it to data security, as one of 300 “Companies to Watch” from among hundreds of nominations. That list was then reduced to only 50 companies that are leading trends with innovation, consolidation, and execution at the epicenter. Evaluation of these companies and their technology offerings was based in part on their technical and strategic ability to solve the problems of enterprise computing, as well as their resilience and focus on the essential ingredients needed to thrive.

“Security is one use case for blockchain that can offer immediate value and results across every industry,” said William Jan, vice president and lead analyst at Outsell in a recent report issued by the firm. “Given that blockchain transactions are secure by design, blockchain’s development in the market has essentially become one in search of business and workflow use cases, and not based on its use as a security tool. If successful, ALTR, as the pioneer for blockchain-based data security, could be the catalyst for the largest adoption of blockchain yet.”

Moving beyond failed and outmoded perimeter systems that are stuck in an unending loop of patching a constantly evolving attack surface, the ALTR platform is designed to eliminate threats altogether through core approaches in private blockchain, in-line data techniques, real-time alerting, and reporting for business enablement. It connects applications to data, helping to make mobility and cloud initiatives safe as organizations adopt them.

“At ALTR, we’re bringing the best minds together to establish a new global standard in data security,” said David Sikora, CEO at ALTR. “Outsell’s selection of ALTR as one of 50 ‘Companies to Watch’ out the hundreds that they considered is both an honor and inspiration, and it leaves us energized to continue our work.”
